Full course description
The badge’s curriculum will teach the earner to use the UNF library’s website to access academic resources, tools, and services. Earners will be able to navigate the UNF Library homepage to find and use OneSearch, subject specific databases, and library guides. Furthermore, they will know various ways for getting help, scheduling a research consultation with librarians, and reserving library spaces for research and study. Upon the completion of this program, they will be able to select academically appropriate resources, identify a well-executed search strategy, and prepare their own search strategy using Boolean language, effective search strings, and database filters. Developing proficiency in library academic research skills equips individuals with the ability to efficiently gather, evaluate, and synthesize information, fostering critical thinking and analytical abilities essential for navigating complex challenges in the workforce, thereby enhancing career readiness.
Earning Criteria
To earn this badge, earners must:
- Complete 6 online modules
- Pass module quizzes
- Demonstrate proficiency in a final assignment that librarians assess.
